So, just finished watching all 3 seasons of The Mandalorian. It's a weird watch, I understand why folk were raving about it, but I also feel it doesn't REALLY know what it wants to be. One minutes it's a comedy, the next drama, the next just weird fanfic. Was worth a watch though. #TigerFlix
Just finished watching Bofuri: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense. Probably my least favourite so far. A fun watch, but didn't really hook me. It was a bit too predictable and repetitive for my taste. Ending was good though. #TigerFlix
I have finished Campfire Cooking Season 1 and now I am sad there is no more until they release 2. Genuinely a really fun little anime and I definitely need to find more shows like this. #TigerFlix
Decided to try something different in bed tonight and indulge in some light 60s bond'age. Surprisingly they had actual tradecraft in it, although half way through it gets very silly and honestly, Bond is a shit spy. Decent couple of hours entertainment though. #TigerFlix
Castlevania Season 2 cover art.
Castlevania Season 2 binged in a day. Still really enjoying it, good mix of anime violence, humour and action. Characters are great and it's fantastic they made Dracula a flawed character, not a monster villain. Definitely looking forward to Season 3. #TigerFlix
Castlevania Season 1 cover.
Due to random clips on tiktok picked up Castlevania to watch through. Just binge watched S1 tonight (only 4 episodes) and I'm actually hooked. Loving the mixture of drama and humour, genuinely wanting to watch more episodes after each finishes. Also slightly in love with Trevor. #TigerFlix
Just watched the stage recording of Into the Woods. I'd forgotten how outstanding the performance is. One of my absolute favourite musicals and had me sobbing (again) at the end. Can't recommend this enough. #TigerFlix
I try and tag as much as I can on here that's topic specific, rather than just musings. If you're interested in specific stuff I talk about:
#GamesMasterXantin - PC / Console gaming.
#TableTopTiger - Board gaming.
#TigerFlix - Films / TV at home.
#Tigermount - Films at the cinema.
I am thinking of finally getting sorted to organise a bit of a film club at mine. I have a load of films to watch and really prefer company with them, having a friend over last night hugely helped me realise I love chilling with friends watching a film. Anybody fancy signing up to #TigerFlix?
A screenshot of a film playlist featuring: Explorers, The NeverEnding Story, Innerspace, Mannequin, Masters Of The Universe and Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure.
I am feeling the urge for a retro film binge, so I think tomorrow is a duvet & 80s day. Got a list of films prepped to watch toooooo! #TigerFlix
Watched Hitchhikers again on a whim. Still a brilliant adaptation and I forgot Peter Jones narrates it. Definitely worth a watch, now what next... #TigerFlix
Just watched the final episode of The Tudors. Really enjoyed it, although it's a little hammy at times. Cast were great and genuinely wanted to watch the next episode each time. Definitely a recommend, especially for copious Henry Cavill. #TigerFlix
Overall, I won't say I didn't enjoy it, because I did, it had some REAL high points and it's a good addition to the Trek universe. But it just could have been so much, so very much, more. #TigerFlix
I quite enjoyed early seasons, especially S2. But from S3 onwards it felt like every episode had to include the word "connection" and WAY too much focus on Burnham being emotional / soul searching. It also tried to keep up the "epic season length plot" where Discovery are vital. #TigerFlix
Finished Star Trek: Discovery, Season 5 tonight. Have to admit it left me decidedly "eh", even with a double length final episode. It just seemed like a very long, drawn out retelling of a TNG episode. #TigerFlix
Avengers tonight and the end of Phase 1. Decent action film, so entertaining moments but I still find dome characters insufferable, emphasised by the enforced infighting to extend the plot. Worth watching though and a good end to the universe setup. #TigerFlix
Finally back onto my MCU watch through with Captain America: The First Avenger. Was actually better than I expected, and there's sufficient screen time for Chris Evan's pecs to keep me amused. Hoping that the next few films are more enjoyable due to fewer "this is an intro movie" vibes. #TigerFlix
Although I'd already seen this one, tonight's film was Thor. First one I've really enjoyed. Really good film, Hemsworth is beyond hot and an end that made me actually excited. Favourite so far of these. Am knackered though as started watching late. #TigerFlix
So... Iron Man 2. Better than 1, characterisation still insanely irritating on several characters. Really good action scenes towards the end. Enjoyed it once I got into it. Was worth a watch. #TigerFlix
Tonight's film was The Incredible Hulk. For a film that SHOULD tick so many boxes for me it was... Eh? Honestly disappointing and mostly because of below par acting. That and Liv Tyler's expression implying she'd rather fuck the Hulk. Not a likely rewatch. #TigerFlix
Making a start on watching through the MCU. Going to try and average a film a night when home. Tonight was Iron Man, not a bad film, don't really like Tony Stark as a character, hoping it'll improve. Reasonable start to the watch through. #TigerFlix
Second Film tonight, Raise the Titanic. Absolute garbage in any factual/historical sense, but quite a fun watch. Proper Sunday afternoon film. I really need film buddies to talk about stuff we watch with. #TigerFlix
Finally got round to watching Resident Evil: Welcome To Raccoon City tonight. It's a decent adaptation of the games, could have been a LITTLE deeper for me, but was a decent couple of hours watch. Def worth a look if you want some mindless Zombie entertainment. #TigerFlix
The only thankful note I have for the last few episodes is that they stopped getting to the end of the episode, having had the moral of the story in 6' neon letters throughout, only to have the Dr beat us round the head with it for a few minutes in case we missed it. #TigerFlix
Last 2 nights finished the Hobbit trilogy. Wouldn't say they're as good as the first film but definitely a brilliant watch. Ending was quite touching and I liked the overall story. Now back to planned films! #TigerFlix
Slight break from original plan tonight, decided to watch the first Hobbit film. Honestly it is so much more enjoyable than the original LOTR films. Definitely going to watch the rest ASAP. #TigerFlix
I didn't realise I'd missed a sequel, so bought and watched Alice Through The Looking Glass. Actually a more fun film, much brighter and more fun. Definitely worth a watch! #TigerFlix
In a slight change to our scheduled programming, skipped a couple of fourth film was The Road To El Dorado. Not seen this one before and it's absolutely brilliant, VERY well animated and written, lots of great subtle jokes and some banging music. 10/10. #TigerFlix
Third film, Popeye, to quote @whiskianwye.bsky.social an absolute fucking train wreck of a movie but also incredibly watchable with some quite catchy tunes to it. Absolutely one of my favourites and, worrying, Robin Williams is weirdly hot in it. Genuinely a recommended watch! #TigerFlix
Second Film, Jurassic Park. A lot more traumatic than I remember! But a brilliant film, a few bits are kinda outdated now in terms of films, but a great watch still. On to next film! #TigerFlix
