I noticed you are a Trebuchet enthusiast. Fair enough—I had an instructor in seventh grade who always asked us to use Verdana in our assignments. I honestly think Times New Roman feels much better to read a long text.

As far as I remember, Microsoft introduced #Calibri as the standard font in MS Office 2007. That was almost 20 years ago. Until then, #TimesNewRoman had been the standard. I heard there's a new standard font, but I wouldn't know because all my applications are set to #Tahoma.
