A thought on the #TreatyPrinciplesBill: has there ever been legislation in a common law jurisdiction purporting to define a term as it appears in *case law* rather than just in statute? Couldn't the Supreme Court say: well, that's not what we meant?

Treaty Principles Bill submissions to reopen It's estimated more than 300,000 submissions were lodged online, with about half of them coming on the last day.

The deadline for submissions has been extended to Tuesday, 14 January at 11:59 pm. I urge you, regardless of your view on the topic, to file a submission. The TPB seeks to fundamentally change NZ.
