This would have made it to #TreeFlowers for #WildflowerHour if I had kept an eye on the time! The tiny female flowers of Corylus avellana that I spotted in a hedge along our High Weald lane this week.

I’m late as usual for #WildFlowerHour but here are some lovely floofy willow catkins #TreeFlowers 🌳
Aren’t #treeflowers beautiful & fascinating! Huge thanks to all who went out looking for them & to all of you that shared your gorgeous pics. It’s all going on out there & with lighter evenings ahead there’s more time for botanising! Woohoo! Happy flower hunting! 🥰
A fabulous selection of plants in bloom for tonight's #WildFlowerHour, especially all those gorgeous #TreeFlowers!
Huge thanks to all of you who shared photos & observations.
Have a great week, keep an eye out for the next @wildflowerhour.bsky.social challenge & see you at 8pm next Sunday!

No classic #TreeFlowers here, but Bog-myrtle (Myrica gale) is too charming to miss for this week’s #WildflowerHour!
Remembered to look up. Lots of fabulous willow catkins now bursting out of their fluffy cases, Norway Maple, what I think are two sorts of plum flower and blackthorn against a rare splash of blue sky #Treeflowers #Wildflowerhour

Close up of small purple flowers
Unfortunately I haven’t been able to get out and look for #treeflowers this weekend, but I did see an early dog violet - in our back lawn! #wildflowerhour
Green flowers / white pink stripe petals, on a Norway maple tree.
I saw this Norway maple in flower for #TreeFlowers taken from a railway bridge #WildflowerHour
Hardly a tree but I'm counting it for the #TreeFlowers challenge nonetheless.
Broom, Cytisus scoparius.

#Spring
Not #treeflowers per se (shrub flowers?) but gorse flowers adding a vibrant pop of colour this Spring! 🌱

A cheery cherry tree in full bloom in Glasgow.
Cherry blossoms coating the pavement, still beautiful though.
#TreeFlowers! #WildflowerHour
Sadly, the endless stormy gales hitting Glasgow the past few days have knocked all the blossoms to the ground, where they are still beautiful. 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 さくら

A close up of two wood anemone flowers. They have eight overlapping, white petals. The anthers are bright yellow. The leaves, in the background are on reddish stems. There are some water droplets on the flowers and leaves. These are ancient woodlands indicators and are found in at least three areas of the reserve. Scientific name: Anemonoides nemorosa.
A photograph of a small branch of blackthorn with many white flowers blooming. There is a small hoverfly nectaring on one of the flowers. The background is greyish and blurred and contrasts nicely with the dark twigs and bright flowers. Scientific name: Prunus spinosa.
A photograph of cherry laurel flowers. They project out of the stem, upwards at a right angle from the leaves that project out to the side. The flowers are small and white, forming a tall cylinder or raceme. The leaves are kings, green and glossy and look a bit like laurel. This is either a garden escapee or part of an estate garden (this area had a couple of estates last century and there are a number of ornamentals throughout). Scientific name: Prunus laurocerasus
And the white flowers of the week included: wood anemone, blackthorn with a lovely hoverfly (Eristalis sp) and cherry laurel

really close up of one blackthorn blossom open and a cluster of buds, there is lichen on the branch too

Prunus spinosa ~ draenen ddu ~ blackthorn. Teifi Marshes, Sir Benfro Pembrokeshire (maybe one in Ceredigion!). My favourite place to be with this blossom 28.03. @wtsww.bsky.social #wildflowerhour #treeflowers #springblossom

@wildflowerhour.bsky.social No #treeflowers from Norfolk for #wildflowerhour – too early, most elms in hedges flailed to death, did see one in passing but no photo. Couple of blackthorn photos – that is everywhere
Catkins of the silver birch red/orange flowers clustered captured with almost a monochrome background.
A rather minimalist shot of silver birch catkins captured as the sun disappeared behind the clouds. A timely reminder that whilst spring can be delightful, she also has a tendency to change her mind.

It's wet cold and windy in north #Cumbria but got some pictures for #wildflower_hour #treeflowers, from around our home. The damson hedge is not yet in its full glory. @wildflowerhour.bsky.social @bsbibotany.bsky.social @cumbriawildlife.bsky.social
Climbing corydalis : white pea like flowers
Danish scurvy grass against the sea wall at Teignmouth. White flowers, fleshy leaves and not like a grass at all
Three heath violets with pale spurs
Pink striped flowers and paired leaves of pink purslane
I should have been looking up for @wildflowerhour.bsky.social #TreeFlowers but I was hunting Moschatel. Didn’t find it but these were some compensation. Just one Devon lane was coated in climbing corydalis, the scurvy grass was by the sea rather than on a salty verge, heath violets & pink purslane
Too many choices for this week's #WildflowerHour like this Norway Maple (Acer platanoides), which has striking greenish-yellow #treeflowers that beautifully contrast with its reddish-brown buds.
