Twenty years ago today..Disturbing video. At least 225 000 people lost their lives in the most horrible way.
More needs to be done in every country to prevent such a high death toll.

Today, 20 years ago, #Tsunami2004 cost too many lives in one of the deadliest natural disasters in recorded history.
I can still remember the day sitting in front of the TV, watching the horrible news come through, how my parents desperately tried to get someone from back home on the phone.

20 years ago today, I was with my family in Sri Lanka when the tsunami struck.
Although close to the beach, I was luckily able to get them all to safety just before the water hit, along with some of the other villagers.
Not everyone in the village made it. 🕯
