The Flourishing to Come February 1, 2026 by Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer on Imbolc, 2026 Midwinter, in Minnesota, they are planting seeds in the cold, seeds of kindness, community, compassion, ferocity. In the streets, they plant seeds of integrity, diversity, equality, justice. On pavement and in snow, they plant democracy. The light is growing. Imagine the beauty if even half these seeds take. What a life that will be when they bloom. Imagine all that goodness reseeding, spreading like wildflowers. Goodness burgeoning, rampant, tenacious as weeds.
A poem by Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer which we read aloud in our #TuBiShvat seder tonight. Here's to goodness burgeoning. Snow notwithstanding, here's to spiritual spring.
It's #TuBiShvat – a New Year for trees and a reminder that no one is beyond regrowth. When working on personal (re)growth, remember to nourish yourself with self-care and the support of others. #mentalhealth #judaism

Today is Tu BiShvat ט״ו בִּשְׁבָט 🌳
The שְׁקֵדִיָּה (almond tree) blooms first each year — early, diligent, and alert.
In Hebrew, its root ש-ק-ד means to be attentive and quick to act.
Tu BiShvat reminds us: growth begins by showing up.
חג שמח 🌸💙

🌳 Tu BiShvat is about you. 🌳 Like trees need roots to bear fruit, we need faith & values to grow. Growth isn't overnight—it's season by season. 🌿Ask: Are my roots deep? Am I growing?🍎 #TuBiShvat #JewishWisdom #Chabad #JewishHolidays #SpiritualGrowth #RootsAndFruits
Happy Tu B’Shvat: Birthday of Trees!

Hello February 💙
A short month — but a meaningful one.
This month brings Tu BiShvat, the New Year of the Trees 🌱 A reminder that growth starts quietly, beneath the surface
Language learning works the same way.
Roots first. Consistency. Patience.
Then suddenly — words stick

If it's too cold in your area to plant a tree for Tu Bishvat, you can plant a tree in Israel for yourself or as a gift to honor someone. Check out JNF - they've been planting trees & caring for the earth for decades.

Petition to change the date of Tu BiShvat in northern hemisphere climates that get blizzards. There's no reason why trees in different parts of the world all need to have the same birthday. We should be more reliably able to celebrate with them.

A view from standing in the middle of a stand of firs, looking straight up, so the trunks appear to burst outward from the center of the photo.
Yesterday was #TuBishvat and we took a walk into the woods (snowy and freezing!) to go thank the trees on their birthday. It was a much-needed moment of peace.
