The moko kauae brings Māori cultural identity to this traditional Catholic icon. She is surrounded by elaborate sequin work in silver, green, red, and gold forming radiating rays and floral motifs. Still have not decided whether to add a closure a call it a Pukapuka Ngira or not. I have lined with scrap fabrics from the wonderful Jeanine Clarkin so it can be. I think it would nice in a frame. #TuiWhakaniko
