Being mostly wood in structure, it has a nice heft to it.
There was also a lot of sanding to get the smooth shapes and surfaces.

I used an old 3330 phone shell as the base for the Type-1 phaser on top. Although I had to modify it quite a bit in the end anyway.

The basic form was constructed in wood, which was then skinned with plastic and putty.
