This is good - the major parties had a kind of 'financial gerrymander' in these laws which ensured they received more funding than did independents. Now overturned, and no doubt the similar national electoral funding laws will go next.

If the Victorian government wanted to do a cheap crowd-pleasing thing before the state election, I'd suggest a crackdown on people playing audio/video without headphones on public transport. There's already a rule against it, never enforced. Would be popular, I think.
