First up, the red hot firery flame Volcana was once regular old Claire Selton, an average teen girl in Metropolis not that different outside of being a bit rebelious. That is until waking up and finding she had gained pyrokinetic powers and was quickly being hunted down by a shady group but found herself saved by none other than the Man of Steel himself and (to the surpise of many) LexCorp drones. Despite a fight and some misunderstandings, Superman offered to help hide Volcana until the heat died down or they were able to take down those who wanted to kidnap and use her, taking her to a place he had been thinking of making out in the Arctic after some thought earlier that day; A place to cool down and recharge by himself, a Fortress of Solitude of sorts. Yeah, Volcana's arc would be the one that introduces the Fortress of Solitude and gives her somewhere at least more homely to stay than a deserted island.
The ever shocking Leslie Willis, aka Livewire, is a lot more different than her original appearance as here she's a punk rock and general rock and roll loving radio DJ who doesn't really care about much aside from having fun. Almost seeing Superman as a kindred spirits as he "just doing what he wants, just like me". That is until an incident at a LexCorp expo she's forced to attend ends with her electrocuted by a strange device, turning her into the electrifing Livewire who Superman is forced to hunt down and stop before she goes too far with her powers and drains the city in a power mad frenzy. Afterwords though, I've come to imagine her beign a neutral force more interested in following her own beat and hosting her own pirate music radio for the fun of it. Also I have totally imagined her having something of a crush on this Lois which did lead to a drawing I wish I did on here. Maybe in the future!
