I dunno, I can't say I didn't enjoy #Vagrus, but I'm not sure I enjoyed it the way the developer intended. So, at the very least, it's not a game for everyone. I think maybe it might be best played in brief 1 or 2 hour sessions for months at a time, in counterpoint to more active games.

#Vagrus is strongly influenced by Sunless Sea, and like that game, the focus is on the writing. But the writing is mid at best. The setting is generic dark fantasy, the characters are stock, and the scenes are overwritten. There's no comparison to Sunless Sea's imaginative weirdness.

Completed #Vagrus, with the "Fame" ending! It turned into quite an obsession, although at 140 hours, it's too long. I wanted to write a Steam review, but my thoughts were... conflicted. I had fun with it, but what's supposed to be fun is not, and vice-versa. #indiegames #rpg 🧵
