Stopping by the roadside earlier this afternoon, we were overtaken by the #SSIF 🇮🇹 ABe6/6 unit 34 “Piemonte”, working the 14:04 regional service from #Domodossola to #Re. Next stop would be #Masera, where the narrow gauge line leaves the #Toce river plain, and start its steep ascent to #ValVigezzo.

Returning from a day out, high up above the #ValVigezzo 🇮🇹 in #Piemonte: mountain huts and snow-covered alpine pastures under a perfectly blue sky. What a blessing.
And a ride on the #Vigezzina #Centovalli line with the last #Locarno🇨🇭to #Domodossola 🇮🇹 through train of the day.

Daylight is at its shortest this week. What a blessing to hike in the mountains high up above the #ValVigezzo 🇮🇹 in #Piemonte in bright sunshine … and to take a ride on the lovely “trenino” of the #Vigezzina railway to #Domodossola - in an old 1950s #SSIF ABe8/8-type trainset with opening windows. 😉
