It is a thing.
I can refuse to use the stadium name (it will always be the #ValleyOfAshes to me), but kit ad are something we can’t avoid.
I refused to buy a shirt with our embarrassing former sleeve ad, and would gladly pay extra not to have an irrelevant airline across the chest.

I like the two lopped-off corners. Between that and the Cube, I think the design is unique enough.
As for economic impact, the #ValleyOfAshes is in a separate category because it’s part of a much larger development than most stadiums are. The stadium won’t drive revenues but the neighborhood will.
