"Big Boss Man" is a #blues song first recorded by #JimmyReed in 1960. It became one of his most popular songs, although the songwriting is credited to #LutherDixon and Al Smith. #Chicago-based #VeeJayRecords released it as a single, which became one of Reed's last appearances on the record charts.

Japanese first press of Conversations (1963)—rich, open stereo from July ’63 sessions. Not his last US recordings, but among his final before Europe.

Record Rescue #2 - Excited to find at a local thrift for 2bux an upgrade of The Dells' 1959 debut. Hard to find in any condition (only the 2nd copy I've ever seen anywhere) the cover here looked better than my red label first press. Likely a 2nd press circa 1960 or so, this vinyl is nice enough to play on my best turntable! I restored the cover a bit (upper right, before). Most tape residue removed. Still imperfect but better than it was. Remarkable this even exists. Very happy.
