Pioneering Tech Transfer: WARF at 100 WARF at 100: Connecting university innovation with industry imagination A century ago, when University of Wisconsin biochemistry professor Harry Steenbock discovered a new relationship between ultraviolet light and vitamin D in food, the era of “tech transfer” was born in the form of the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation. It was the seed that bloomed into a new relationship between university researchers and growing global industries hungry to bring fresh innovations to market. Today, over 30 new products hit the market each year with a WARF license and more than 1,200 products exist because of WARF’s support, boosting our economy by more than $10 billion and growing. #WARF100
