a slide showing the journey of going from a theoretical approach of gendered environments to research outputs and tools for practical change (aka more than medals).

common challenges, mechanisms, and possible outcomes derived from interviews with retired women athletes and how they experienced gender discrimination in sport. the challenges include: stereotypes trivialize injury, physiology is all or nothing, the “ideal” female athlete, in/visible inequities, and uneven power dynamics.
