Palestinian American writer & human rights activist.
Founder of a non-governmental organization, #PlaygroundsforPalestine.
Her first novel, Mornings in Jenin, was translated into 32 languages and sold more than a million copies.

Secular Palestinian feminist journalist.
Won the Courage in Journalism Award, known for her defiant stance against violations of civil rights in Gaza.
In 2010, she was granted the Hellman/Hammett award by Human Rights Watch.
Her family were killed in an Israeli airstrike.

Karima Abboud,
1894-1940
First Palestinian woman photographer. Karima began to practice photography as a teenager in 1913. As well as photographing landscapes, many of her pictures featured women in Bethlehem.
