I wish more folks did what we do at #WRDS. If we get an error, and fix the problem, we proactively reach out to the affected users through #ZenDesk and let them know to try again, even though they didn't open a ticket. The amount of user goodwill it builds up is worth the extra minute.

Our responses don’t have to be entirely or always serious, in fact. They can take shifty elements of this research up as the aspects of parody that they appear to be. There are risks with that approach, to be sure. But also rewards.
