I expect the ECB are sending messages of encouragement to the Scottish camp. Scotland in a ‘home’ World Cup would certainly help the ticket sales.

Also, I’m not sure that USA teams are getting the kindest reception abroad these days.

BAN have been a class apart in the tournament so there would be no shame in SCO losing.

Well, back to my screens and it seems that 107 was enough, for Netherlands at least.

Very surprised at THA getting out for just 90. Well done to the NED bowlers and fielders to defend that total. Means that NED won all of their games and will be well placed in the Super Six.

IRE/NAM is a bit of a dead rubber as NAM are out of the tournament and IRE won’t be taking any points forward to the Super Six.

THA/NED on the other hand has a lot riding on it with points up for grabs for the next stage.

NEP losing here means THA progress to the Super Six. Important question is, can they take points against NED through.

If THA beat NED then their Super Six position will be stronger.

If NED win, they will be in pole position to reach the main tournament.

I think they may struggle in the Super Six against THA, NED and SCO, but it’s a major achievement to have made it to that stage as the lowest ranked side in the tournament.

Nepal all out for just 68 - Barma didn’t come out to bat again. Didn’t see Scotland batting but the commentators are saying that Nepal’s fielding was poor and gave away more than 20 runs.

Maybe, if Scotland had been kept under 120, it would have been a different story.

USA now making this much harder than it should have been against PNG. 92 for 4 after 16 overs needing 20 to win.

Not ‘panic stations’ yet, but they need to keep focussed to reach the target.

Needing 9.5/ over now and, even if Barma can come out to bat again, looks pretty hopeless for NEP now.

PNG were restricted to a modest 110 and the USA are currently 69 for 1 after 12 overs and looking very much in control.
