A group of people looking at the London Clay and superficial deposits around the Lake at Hainault Forest Park

Much of the Ingrebourne, like many other London streams, is lined with Himalayan Balsam. A beautiful plant but very invasive.
A view of Ingrebourne Marshes, an SSSI, seen from Hornchurch Country Park. A lake can be seen in the distance on the right. That's as close as I could get.
Two more views of the river.

The Ingrebourne flows into Rainham. A profusion of bullrushes, purple plants and many other water-loving plants cover the surface.
The lake at Albyn's Farm. It used to be bare, and now look at the profusion plants and trees. Foreground plants making an interesting silhouette against the lake's reflection.
Crossing over to Berwick Glades for the first time adds a further dimension to the walk. Parched grasses beside a cornfield add warmth and texture to the photo. A row of trees marks the field boundary. On the horizon is Bonnett's Wood, not yet visited.
Returning through the woods of Ingrebourne Valley Nature Reserve is difficult walking but rewarding.
23 years ago I completed London LOOP with a friend. I've just been back to Ingrebourne for the first time since then. Sadly no sun. But what a transformation. So I've documented a new walk, 130 Ingrebourne and Berwick Woods.

A view of Paternoster Square ruined by sheds, stalls and unattractive tv system and naff sculptures
Paternoster Square was once a really nice piazza in the City of London. Today it’s full of clutter, sheds and poor quality public art #walklondon
Lovely weekend walk from Little Venice to Hoxton, via Camden & Kings Cross, along the Regent’s Canal. Great way to experience London’s different neighbourhoods. #walklondon
