In about a month from now I will have learned the two thousand something #kanji and the six thousand something words it teaches. I can hardly believe it, it's been a great time - and it's just the beginning. Onward to #Japanese books 💖

#Wanikani just taught me the kanji 駄, meaning "burdensome" and seemingly, from the parts that kanji is composed from, the Japanese concept of burdensome is... "a fat horse".

Thanks to #Wanikani reshuffling items across their levels every once in a bit I now already have a single piece of vocabulary of the very last level 60 learned completely and burned :D
Had so much trouble memorizing 更ける (fukeru - to grow late) until yesterday I suddenly realized... it's the passive form of 更かす (fukasu - to stay up late) which is just nominalized in the very title of my favorite anime series.

Completing level 46 of #Wanikani has been my fastest level ever since way back level 2, almost 2 years ago.
I am amazed at how natural kanji feel by now. How the various components building a kanji pretty much form memes in my head on their own by now. What an amazing learning journey. 💖

I learned ちょう for 丁 a couple weeks ago mostly because #wanikani wanted to start using 丁 as a building block for other characters, like 町. And ど for 度 I learned in class years ago because that character shows up when talking about temperatures, like “degrees” in English. and 丁度 I know from anime!?
