My very messy gaming desk. On the left is an Alienware gaming laptop displaying the Elite Dangerous title screen. On the right is a Starlight edition Commodore 64 Ultimate displaying the title screen of the original Elite. Out of frame: the HOTAS I use with Elite Dangerous and my old Commodore 1541 floppy drive, which miraculously still works perfectly and miraculously loaded my old copy of Elite with no problems.
I'm home.
Elite was the first game I loaded, of course. I can't believe both my 1541 and my copy of Elite are still functioning!

A "Starlight edition" Commodore 64 Ultimate, freshly unpacked, sits on top of its box. The computer has a clear translucent case, semitransparent smoke colored keys, and four bright red semitransparent function keys along the right side. The part of the box that's revealed when you open the front flap reads "WELCOME BACK TO THE WORLD OF FRIENDLY COMPUTING", harkening back to the original C-64 box which said "WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF FRIENDLY COMPUTING" in the same font and color scheme.
I am so very, very happy right now! Sharing a moment with 13 year-old me.
