🇨🇳 authorities targeted activist #WeiWenyuan for documenting abuses and supporting petitioners after her 2009 home demolition. Police repeatedly detained her and jailed her for 7 yrs combined. She received the 2026 #CaoShunli Memorial Award.

Chongqing citizen journalist #WeiWenyuan is serving 4 years for “picking quarrels.” Detained on June 4, 2021, she wasn’t sentenced until 2023, with little info available. Wei worked with human rights news site "64 Tianwang" and advocated for its jailed founder #HuangQi.
