If city win the league with 85 points, how the fuck can that be a one-horse race? In this very competitive league?

If they won it with 78 maybe but come on.

If Arsenal do finish second, I’m sure I’ll read for years as to how we lost a 9 point lead that in reality was never higher than 6. 2 games!

You are not a serious football pundit if you are saying that Arsenal would have won the title already by now if they'd played like they did v City in their other games without mentioning the INJURIES to Odegaard, and Havertz who started a game with Eze yesterday for the 2nd time this season.

Generally, my feeling is that Arsenal fans seem to be (mostly) in a better place today now that the City game is actually done than after Bournemouth.

The improved performance helped.

I love my City. So Much. I tried to do right talking about how great you all are on a podcast and worry I could only fit so much in. Everyone has done so so so much. SO MUCH.

You are all amazing and give me hope for the future.

Despite the result, I was proud of the team today. Best performance in a while. Players coming back. Might be a decent push to end the season. Who knows. Part of me doesn’t care about the title. If City don’t win it from here, great. But I hate them being part of the narrative of our season.

Wayne Rooney has Arsenal winning the league - with 5 straight wins - while City draw at Everton, to give Arsenal the league by two points (Arsenal 85, City 83 points) - Match of the Day

Completely forgot to post this updated table after City won the League Cup recently. Today's result reminded me to do so. City firmly on course for a 7th PL title in 9 years. Unbelievable achievement. Literally.

I don’t see the point in United fans arguing over who they should be wanting to win the league. I’d imagine a lot of it is influenced by where you’re from and how many City or Arsenal fans you come into contact with on a daily basis.

How many years has it been since City were hit with 115 charges? How many titles would we have won since then?

Fuck this league. Can't win it so long as serial cheaters are allowed to get away with it for years.

The Premier League a fucking joke.

Arsenal's penalty area problem: How Man City attack broke down England's best defense without being exploited In an otherwise even game one thing stood out, Manchester City moved the ball into Arsenal's penalty area at an alarming rate, and the Gunners couldn't make them pay

Most data points will tell you that was an even game. Except one, where Man City obliterated Arsenal. 40 touches in the l box, 14 allowed. A territorial beat down not far off the 2-2 in 2024.

That curio might tell us more about City. Repeat this and they could go six from six in style.

re: Kai

In the league, that was the second first-half open-play goal by an Arsenal striker all season.

The other was Merino vs Brentford.

If you're ruing near-misses for his second/third against City, so am I.

If you're really blaming him: what.

Should start every game at #9 from here on.

Sky have just simultaneously said that Arsenal's injuries are not an excuse and that's what a squad is for...

...and then seconds later said that City's run-in might depend on the extent of Rodri's injury.

You can't make it up.

This game is weird. I’m obv so gutted but also I think I love the team & club more after today than before. I felt they played with courage & overcame a stinking run of poor form to come so close. Who knows, maybe now the pressure will all go onto City? We just have to win every game & see.

My wife, the Gooner is coming to a pub full of celebrating City fans.

She's obviously got a strong constitution if she's managed to put up with me for three decades!

not to pick on Aaron, but I see a lot of this and I think it’s unfair, or at least premature. we went toe to toe with City today and we had five of our summer signings starting.

The two major problems facing Arsenal after Man City take control of title race A pair of issues look set to cost Mikel Arteta’s side after Pep Guardiola’s team landed a potentially decisive Premier League blow at the Etihad

There might now be a final title irony that, if it does become a shoot-out, Arsenal need to change the emphasis of their team and get scoring

Expensive attacking talent was the difference here

City’s repeat winners also showed their experience

I’ve always felt pretty apathetic about City. Their team built on financial doping, their plastic fan base, it’s all just felt cheap and unearned. I haven’t felt the same level for distain for them as our other rivals, but I’ll be honest, I’m getting closer

tomodachi life is a very erotic game i think. cute little town where everyone loves each otherand plays and learns new things and doesnt really understand anything. its erotic in a similar way to like,, city or touhou. to me at least

Reminder to any conflicted United fans out there…

Enjoying a title race doesn’t make you a City fan. Arsenal cocking it up is interesting, but after more than a decade of it, City’s success barely registers anymore. It’s hollow. It’s meaningless. I’m far more concerned when Liverpool are up there.

I would much, much rather Arsenal win the league than City. Are you not all sick of City?

it is kinda funny given that everyone's gonna be talking about mentality and bottling, that the one team you could see the nerves on today was City

the final ~15 minutes their decision-making was so so bad

but they won so that's not a story anyone will care about
