Stuck in the Mud Porter - Sooke Oceanside Brewery ~Coming Soon~ Winter 2021 / 2022

Last night's #weirdbeer wasn't weird after all, relatively speaking: Stuck In The Mud Coffee Porter, from Sooke Oceanside Brewing. Not my favourite from them, but a very good 6% dark porter 1/2 www.sookeoceansidebrewery.com/product/stuc...

Impulsion Imperial Stout — 33 Acres Brewing Company The vast darkness and void of space is completely filled with stars, some are just too dim to see. This is a Stout, rich in flavour and warm in body. Easy to see, easy to drink. Dropping today…

Tonight's #weirdbeer is the delicious, rich, dark, almost gooey Impulsion Imperial Stout, from the 33 Acres imprint "33 Brewing Experiment": 9.5% of rich caramel, with a little fruit and bitterness at the end. Well worth seeking out! 1/2 #bcbeer

Gravity Wave - Category 12 A harmonious blend of fine roasted malts and toasted coconut results in a porter that is both deep and inviting.

Tonight's #weirdbeer isn't that weird: Gravity Wave coconut porter, 5% from Category 12. Delicious, with some mellow sweetness from the coconut, and something coffee-like or chocolatey from so much malt. #bcbeers

A beer can in front of a Canadian flag. Specifically, a can from Wildeye Brewing called Oberon's Elixir Dark Blackberry Sour

A beer can in front of a Canadian flag. Specifically, a can from Wildeye Brewing called Oberon's Elixir Dark Blackberry Sour

Tonight's #weirdbeer: Oberon's Elixir Dark Blackberry Sour, from Wildeye Brewing in North Vancouver. Good, but much less punch than a beer with that name should have, and a long way from my favorite in this genre (Bite Me Raspberry Sour, from Bones Brewing).

A tall can of beer with a label that looks like a Christmas sweater. It's called Chocolate Minute Winter Beeracle, from Dead Frog Brewery in Langley, British Columbia

A tall can of beer with a label that looks like a Christmas sweater. It's called Chocolate Minute Winter Beeracle, from Dead Frog Brewery in Langley, British Columbia

Wish me luck, friends. Tonight's #weirdbeer offering is the Chocolate Mint Winter Beeracle, described as a "warming winter ale" at 6% ABV, from @deadfrogbrewery.bsky.social. (Should my weird local beer tastings be a recurring feature?)

I chose/tried one of these after seeing Dana Gould last month —so I was already a couple of (Japanese rice) beers deep. I like #weirdbeer, but this was too syrupy sweet & not sour enough. Made @doublehead.bsky.social & his gf sample it, maybe in exchange for some of what they had. Finished, but meh.
