Today, my heart is heavy as Reform have gained control of my area. I've seen some home edders saying they will vote for them as they oppose the #WellbeingBill. I'm sorry, but no. They are a racist, bigoted, homophobic party. There is huge problems with this country, they aren't the answer though.

Home educated children are not 'ghost children'. They are out there living life, partaking in groups, social gatherings. They are not hidden away! The absolute lack of understanding about what home education is about is shocking when they are writing legislation about it. #wellbeingbill #homeed

The proposed Children's Wellbeing and School's Bill has the ability to allow LAs to decline your request to home educate, on the grounds of the LA believing it would not be in the child's interests. This means, despite you being able to meet the child's needs, or school being unsafe, or unable to meet needs etc., the LA could refuse . LAs already announce publicly that school is the best place for a child. They need no more reason than that. If it is important to you then it's important to oppose the Bill.
