Renée Lemaire was born #OTD in 1914. She was a Belgian nurse who volunteered to help injured American troops during the 'Battle of the Bulge' during #WW2. She was killed in German air raid on Christmas Eve 1944.

US Army PFC Sadao Munemori was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for his heroics #OTD in Italy. He was a member of the 100th Infantry Battalion, an all Nisei unit.
His parents were in a Japanese internment camp during #WW2.
