Photo from the shoreline along Buena Vista Beach, one of the four major settlements along Last Mountain Lake. The others being Regina Beach, Saskatchewan Beach and Wee Too Beach. In the foreground is some grass along the edge of a sandy beach; a bench that was turned over during a recent wind storm; a makeshift rock pier and a green bush growing at the edge of the beach. In the background on the far side of the lake there are cabins and homes that have been built along the edge of the lake. The sky is cloudy and overcast. Much of our time was spent indoors.
This is another photo along the Buena Vista Beach trail. Dense green foliage along the shore covering rocks placed in this area to stabilize the ground at the edge of the lake. Also visible is a dead tree that was knocked over in the recent wind storm.
A photo of two Western Grebe water birds swimming in the lake near a pontoon boat cradle. They are birds about the size of a goose with dark grey to black feathers on their backs and dark feathers up and onto their heads. Their throat and chest are white. Their beak is long and yellowish. I couldn't get a good shot of their heads but their eyes are a bright red. The Grebe is a diving bird and can stay under water for extended periods.
This is a blown up photo of a single Western Grebe from its right side. I did take more photos, but the people in them didn't want to be posted on social media, so these were the only ones I could post.
