Now, I do appreciate them touching on how the lack of marriage or legal rights to one’s spouse was a huge issue for a lot of LGBTQ people. Your spouse would die and their homophobic family members would kick you out of the house. #WhenWeRise
One thing that is pissing me off is the lack of inclusion of Black and brown LGBTQ people. Outside of two, the show makes it look like the whole gay rights movement was led by the yts. #WhenWeRise

We had the honor to meet Cleve Jones years ago and got his book "When we Rise". A book about personal events and political struggles. His work with Harvey Milk and the set-backs and triumphs of LGBTQIA folks who pioneered a part of civil rights, may need to read again
