[I was going to wait to post it for this day anyway but was impatient lol but still doing it now bc why not]
So… this was the missing young Lord of Doma. The one Yugiri talked about so often when they were children living in Sui-no-Sato, and when providing her and their fellow Domans a safe space to live back in Eorzea after the failed rebellion. Whose letters made her pale green eyes light up when she would tell Silva about them. The very same man that Gosetsu hoped and prayed they would find to drag back home for a second chance at freedom. The way he crumbled to his knees and bowed his head, choked with emotion as he addressed him, was still so fresh in her mind. And they welcomed each other with kind greetings and open arms, almost as if they hadn't been apart for three years. It was a homecoming that those three needed, but also didn't expect. Not entirely. It wasn't one the Auri Warrior of Light expected either. Seeing Hien Rijin alive and whole after being presumed dead for so long seemed as if the gods and kami had their hands in his tale. Their reunion brought her joy, yet it also made her heart ache — a dull pain behind her ribs. There weren't many people who were as fortunate as they were, especially those from Doma. Silva was one of them. She would never see her parents or the woman who became her aunt ever again, a fact that haunted her all these years later. And even now, returning to her homeland after fourteen years hasn't been easy. She forced the thought aside — it had no place here. And as the prince and his two retainers stood several yalms away for a private discussion of their next steps — or perhaps to make certain this meeting was real — Silva couldn't help but watch.
The corners of his eyes crinkled when a cheerful smile lit up his face. How his broad shoulders and chest shook with belly-deep laughter at hearing something his old mentor said. More importantly, she noticed how the sound seemed to both his retainers at ease. Something so simple yet made her lips curve into a smile. He gave Gosetsu and Yugiri equal attention and a chance to speak. Silva found it difficult not to laugh as her eyes caught his hands at his side and on the hilt of his katana twitch — to use them while they talked. What an interesting quick for the two of them to share… she thought to herself. (Though even if she kept her hands still, her tail never failed to give herself and her emotions away.) Had he done that during their introduction? But she also saw his lips dip into a frown. There was a muscle in his jaw that ticked every time something said bothered him, the fingers on his left hand curling tighter around his blade. How his expression would harden and his stance would shift. And how the look would soften just ever so slightly when his gaze flicked over and lingered on her for several heartbeats before looking away. The gold flecks in his peridot orbs shimmered in the sun. Four times now, she counted. She would be lying if she didn't admit that each glance made her breath catch or her heart leap into her throat. If it didn't fill her belly with butterflies.
I won't have the first prompt for #WoLHienWeek2025 done in time before AO3 goes down later AND me leaving tomorrow night. So, have a little snippet from what I've written so far instead!!! 💜

The lord's back is still turned to them as he sits out across the Steppe. From how perfect his stature is, it could hardly be known the severe injuries he apparently suffered a few moons ago. When he finally stand and turns to face the group, his eyes beam with a dangerous resolve. She pauses. Through the endless fog clouding her mind, she looks into the light in his green iris', and feels a dormant spark reignite within herself. Despite her impressive stature, Hien's surprised to find this illustrious 'Warrior of Light' — Freyalin — so meek. He suspects there many stories and secrets hidden behind the sunken blue eyes of hers. His train of thought is beat out of him, literally, as Gosetsu strikes his rib. As they spar, the woman in question appears, to his slight embarrassment. "Shun, was it?" she says. He falters. Hearing that name come out of her mouth makes all his though cease. The smirk on her face tugs at him a moment before he focuses and brushes off the electricity moving up his spine. End ID.
