One of the #Wollemi cuttings has grown a cone! For some reason I thought they would revert to sapling form, but no of course they wouldn’t.

Good news! My #wollemi pine has stopped dying. It stopped dying so much it has grown a thing!

* Would the proposed amendments save globally valued scientific marvels like #Nilpena?
* Would they save our human heritage, like #Murujuga?
*Would they save Asterolasia, or #Wollemi pines?

Lovely display in the Evolution Garden @nhm-london.bsky.social. #Wollemia nobilis, #Wollemi Pine, in front a a dinosaur. A living fossil, thought extinct and only discovered in Australia in 1994, is a member of the Araucariaceae family. As is the monkey puzzle (Araucaria araucana) planted nearby.

A cute little Wollemi pine, Wollemia nobilis, at a friend’s arboretum. It was ravaged by cows some years back but has bounced back!
