Having discovered that Shang Tsung was doping Scorpion and Sub-Zero to give them a better advantage against Raiden's fighters, Kitana and Sonya were unfortunately caught in the act and had to face Smoke and Jade, the fight turned to their opponents' advantage and instead of suffering a fatality, they were firmly tied/gagged while Shang's spell to erase the victims' memories of what they discovered about his schemes took effect and will be operational in 12 hours because of the very powerful physical and mental resistance of these fighters.
