If you listen closely, you can hear thumping from a Hairy Woodpecker high up in the tree. A few were so strong you could feel it when you put your hand on the trunk #birds

A leucistic red-bellied woodpecker perched on the side of a tree trunk. It has a white beak and talons/feet, a bright red head but is lacking the black and white feathers that make up its wings and back. Taken at the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge in Bloomington.

This is a leucistic Red-bellied Woodpecker I found on Monday. So unique and pretty. Bonus that it was also lightly snowing.
