Curious print from London c. 1672: "The famous porcupine lately come over from the West Indies & at present to be seen in & about the City of London with a large collection of other very strange creatures from most parts of the world." From the curator's notes: "This may have been the collection that the scientist Robert Hooke recorded seeing in 1672: 'an Indian cat, Japan peacock, porcupine, vulture, great owl and three cassowaries'.
