Five colour orienteering map, 1:10000. As usual with Dave Gittus' maps the surrounding land is filled in with yellow for the fields. There are two small woodlands, both mostly runnable. Used as a warm up for the JK event Easter 1981.

A small 1:15,000 map with a lot of one way runnability giving it a very stripy appearance. Overprinted with a JK1981 course.

Bishop's Wood 1981. This Staffordshire pine wood contains the remains of an old glass factory. It was used a lot between 1976 and 1986 but has long been missing from the fixture lists. #OldOrienteeringMap #Orienteering #Map #WrekinOrienteers This was my last ever run in the #JK.

An extract - eastern half of a five colour 1:15000 orienteering map of a steep ridge and nearby limestone woodland which has been quarried and mined. Surrounding farmland is also shown giving an overall yellow appearance but the competition area was entirely forest. Dave Gittus, Wrekin Orienteers.

Wrekin 1979. E. half of the map which included some very brambly industrial ground on limestone as well as the Uriconian ridge itself. 1st use was for the Midland Championships. This map was for a use up the map stock badge event #OldOrienteeringMaps #Orienteering #Maps #WrekinOrienteers #Shropshire

Scribed 1 to 15,000 orienteering map. Mostly runnable but a big blog of fight in the middle. Steep slopes on west side with crags and a huge quarry. R Postlethwaite, Wrekin Orienteers.
