The wooden external #x220 keyboard from tpart.net artived. They built a custom controller and it works like the original #thinkpad keyboard, including track point.

Recalibrating my X220 with tlp recalibrate BAT0
Error: cannot read charge level of battery BAT0

It's a TLP bug fixed a couple of weeks ago. The solution was to install the git versions of tlp.
yay -S tlp-git tlp-rdw-git

Now I can plug in my X220 and recalibrate overnight
