I'm going to[ post Friday's outlook now as Edmonton could now see 10-20cm of snow.

Significant weather outlook for Thursday and it's wild.

NE Alberta could see 15-30cm.
High winds in SE Alberta and Cypress Hills area.
Warnings are already in place.

Colder air settling in for a few days - gusty wind becomes an issue later today/Thu/Fri...AND a good chance of some snow in the coming days. Wed WxBlog: www.ctvnews.ca/edmonton/art... #yegwx
Rain (heavy in places) south and east of Edmonton heading to the northeast.
#yegwx
20 degrees again today in Edmonton - but the weather's taking a real u-turn over the next few days as colder air returns...the wind gusts and we get some rain (and possibly snow). Here's your Tue WxBlast video: www.ctvnews.ca/edmonton/vid... #yegwx
Well, this forecast went to total crap.
We could be looking at around 10cm of snow by this weekend, as it sits right now.
#yegwx
One more warm day - then an ABRUPT end to the warm spell. Plenty of uncertainty with the snow risk for later this week - but it's definitely getting a LOT colder. We get into all of that in the Tue WxBlog:
www.ctvnews.ca/edmonton/art... #yegwx
April 20th's High of 22.7°C was the 5th warmest on record, and our warmest day since 23.2°C on October 10th.
The Low of 2.9°C was a pretty unremarkable 43rd.

Slight chance of a scattered shower in the Edmonton area this evening. MUCH better chance for some rain Tue night into Wednesday. AND...another warm day Tue but there's a big cooldown coming for the back half of the week. WxBlast video: www.ctvnews.ca/edmonton/vid... #yegwx
So April 20th is our first 20⁰C day of 2026, and our warmest day since October 10th.
It's fairly typical for these to start popping up in Mid-April (although the forecast High of 3⁰C later this week is also fairly typical).
#yegwx #yeg
Our daytime high as of right now is 20.1°C, which is the first time we've broken twenty degrees since October 10, 2025.
We're nowhere close to the record btw.
#yegwx
Going to almost hit 20°C today for game one of the playoffs, can't argue with that.
Showers overnight Tuesday into Wednesday, may see some flurries with that but it'll melt on contact. More showers Thursday.
Other than that, back to double digits into next weekend.
#yegwx
Sunshine and a high near 20 today - but there's some cooler & wetter weather coming. Monday WxBlog:
www.ctvnews.ca/edmonton/art... #yegwx
April 19th's High of 19.2°C didn't quite give us our first 20°C of the year, but it was our warmest day since October 10th.

Spring started 4 weeks ago (...wait, that can't be right?)
Has this been the coldest spring ever? #yegwx #yeg
Usurpingly, no.
It definitely hasn't been warm, but the average High of 3°C is our 126th warmest out of 147. The average Low of -6°C is 105th warmest...

BIG warming trend through the next four days with daytime highs in double digits this weekend and near 20 Mon/Tue. Here's your Fri WxBlast video: www.ctvnews.ca/edmonton/vid... #yegwx
Looking back at the first half of April & how cool it was compared to recent years and the historical averages: www.ctvnews.ca/edmonton/art... #yegwx
We start to pull out of the cool air today and the big melt should commence this weekend. Double digits Saturday, teens Sunday and near 20 early next week. Fri WxBlog:
www.ctvnews.ca/edmonton/art... #yegwx
April 16th was cold. #yegwx #yeg
Its High of -0.5°C was our 5th coldest on record, and Low of -8.2°C was 6th coldest.
That made it our coldest April 16th since 1989, although 2002 was close.
The average High for mid-April is 10°C, and Low is -1°C.

Just to be extremely April, the forecast for the 17th is EVERYTHING.
Sun, rain, snow, nearly double-digit temperatures above freezing, wind, wind-chill of nearly double-digit negative temperatures.

A frosty start to the Friday…but temperatures will warm up quickly (high of 7 or 8 degrees). Double digit highs this weekend and near 20 Mon/Tue as the weather pattern flips to “warm mode”. Here’s your Thu WxBlast video: www.ctvnews.ca/edmonton/vid... #yegwx
