I'm going to #VANUATU between 12-25 december. I plan to climb the seldom climbed summit + the #volcano #yasur on #Tanna island. Any friends/contacts in Vanuatu ? Traveling with me fine too.

In #Vanuatu, SO2 emissions from #Ambrym (the world's strongest volcanic SO2 source over the last decade) appear much reduced since its December 2018 eruption. SO2 also detected at #Yasur, #Ambae and #Gaua. @GeohazardsObs @philipsonbani

#Yasur is also among the gassiest volcanoes on Earth (along with other Vanuatuan neighbors to the N) - it's the gas that drives the persistent explosions. The first reported volcanic CO2 emission detected from space was at Yasur by @IamOCO2....

But I must add that #Yasur (Vanuatu) is hands-down one of the most amazing volcanoes I've been lucky enough to work on. Incredible explosions (follow @dread_rocks for more). If you go, please wear a hard hat. #VolcanoCup
