Stepping into the Eye of York for Colour & Light was like stepping into a fairy ring and suddenly being able to see all the ghosts of York’s past!
The magical projections on #Clifford’sTower and #YorkCastleMuseum were inspired by #York legends, from the Filey Brigg #Dragon to #GuyFawkes.

This afternoon I was back behind the counter at Leak & Thorp on #Kirkgate at #YorkCastleMuseum, working on my crazy #quilt and chatting with visitors about shopping and #fashion in the #VictorianEra.
It was a special delight to have a school group in today with lots of great questions!

Having completed my training over the past few weeks, yesterday was my first day volunteering at #YorkCastleMuseum on Kirkgate at Leak & Thorpe Drapers Shop, chatting about #Victorian fashion!
It was a marvelous feeling to be back in a #costume, sharing my love of #history with #museum visitors.

Stepping onto Kirkgate at #YorkCastleMuseum all dressed in its #Christmas finery and covered with a light dusting of #snow feels like stepping onto the film set for an adaptation of #AChristmasCarol. It is a magical journey back in time to #Victorian York worthy of the Ghost of Christmas Past!

I know it’s still November, but the floodgates of #ChristmasDecorations are definitely open in #York!
The period rooms #YorkCastleMuseum are elegantly adorned in the #holiday decorations appropriate to their periods.

I finally paid my first visit to #YorkCastleMuseum and was thrilled when I stumbled across their splendid #costume exhibit, #SecretsofDress.

There were so many innovative and immersive #exhibits to explore throughout the #museum that I’m sure I’ll be posting more photos from this visit for a while.
