The second of the NE Regional Finals of the #YoungGreenBriton Challenge took place in Hexham Abbey, Northumberland today.
3 schools, 9 teams, 4 Dragons in the Den. I had a thoroughly enjoyable time seeing how far the young #ChangeMakers had developed their ideas since the design sprints ⚽👖🐦💡

The first of two NE regional finals of the #YoungGreenBriton Challenge is a wrap. Awesome ideas & presentations by 12 teams from 4 Newcastle schools. The enthusiasm of the Y7s & Y8s to become #changemakers is amazing & the Newcastle City Council Chambers was the perfect venue.

That's a wrap for the #YoungGreenBriton Challenge Design Sprints in the NE. Alex from STEMazing, Elle, the NE #ClimateAmbassadors hub lead & I were in Benfield School in east Newcastle. It's a deprived socio-environmental area but the Y7 pupils were very keen to become changemakers.

Initiatives such as the #YoungGreenBriton Challenge enable children to develop ideas around what they want to change. A team yesterday gave an insightful presentation on why having a small flock of chickens in school would be better than buying eggs from large suppliers 🐣

Energy levels have been on high up here in the NE! We've delivered design sprints in 3 schools for the #YoungGreenBriton challenge in 3 days. Absolutely incredible creative thinking, teamwork & communication to develop solutions for real world problems.

I have so much fun running the Design Sprints for the #YoungGreenBriton Challenge. What a joyful day in Corbridge Middle School. The room buzzed with creative thinking, problem solving, communication & teamwork. Loved using the Forest Green Rovers tee shirt for a starter!
