The #YouthHomelessChapter campaign delivered a signed letter to the government in the autumn, and now the government has published ‘A National Plan to End Homelessness’.
Watch the video @crisis-uk.bsky.social to hear their summary of what it says.
#YouthHomelessChapter
We’re so proud to be a signatory on the #YouthHomelessChapter – a campaign asking the government to ensure that young people don’t get left out of their wider homelessness plans. If young people aren’t designed into housing and homelessness systems, they get directly excluded.
'For too long young people have been bottom of the priority list, forced to navigate a system designed for the adult world that has failed them.'
Certainly wasn't for lack of campaigning effort from the amazing #YouthHomelessChapter coalition.
Thanks to MPs including @paulabarkermp.bsky.social - co-chair of the APPG on homelessness - for listening to young people from Young Roots speak about young refugee homelessness! #YouthHomelessChapter
Great turnout in Parliament Sq of people representing a collective of over 150+ organisations calling for urgent action to make sure the
Government creates a youth-chapter in their upcoming strategy to end homelessness.
Let’s make sure homeless young people are included
#YouthHomelessChapter
That's why we’re joining others in calling for the government’s upcoming homelessness strategy to dedicate a section focussing on youth-specific homelessness❗

If we miss this opportunity, young people will be blocked out of the support they deserve.
We support the call for a #YouthHomelessChapter to make sure this doesn’t happen.
@rushanaraalibgs.bsky.social
As the government writes its new plan to end homelessness, it’s crucial young people are designed in from the beginning. We support the call for a #YouthHomelessChapter to make sure this doesn’t happen.

We see first-hand that poor financial literacy is central to many problems young people face today, like unemployment and homelessness. Through our Money House programme we see the consequences of young people not being designed into our nation’s housing & homelessness systems.

Image shows Andy McDonald MP with a poster which reads 'I support a #YouthHomelessChapter in the Government's strategy to end homelessness.'
I joined the End Youth Homeless drop-in in Parliament organised by @centrepointuk.bsky.social.
They were joined by YMCA and I was pleased to catch up on their campaign for a #YouthHomelessChapter.
