Snow melts, paving the way for dark green grass and unfurling delicate buds of pink, yellow, white flowers ready to bloom once sunshine smiles their way. Despite the peakings of summer coming through, the nights and early mornings were still chilly and the occasional rain shower would make its way through the streets, drenching the roads and homes with the pleasant smell of petrichor and fresh flora, a treat for those indulging themselves on the outdoors.” Shinra was one such participant, making her way outside with a cup of warm green tea. It had rained only an hour ago and from the looks of it, it would rain again soon. She couldn’t help but sit outside and watch as the tell-tale signs of another storm made themselves known. A rumble in the air, not yet thunder but bubbling as if to whisper I am coming. Trees swayed in the wind, leaves gripping their branches tight with a newfound strength that had not been there a season ago. There was beauty here. There was also beauty inside, curled under a comforter with a furry black and white cat resting on his hip. Beauty will wake silently and without motion so as to not disturb the cat, but will still gently rise, rousing the cat until she yawns and climbs down to nestle herself on the already warm sheets. Beauty will make his way to Shinra and she will welcome him with open arms and a tender kiss on his cheek.
