If you’re having trouble keeping your train of thought, try playing a small bunch of songs on repeat. Ive found it’s better if the songs have limited lyrics.

When you have an idea for your project, you have two choices:
1. Act on it IMMEDIATELY.
Or
2. Write down as much detail as possible and set an alarm to come back to later.
Here’s why that’s so important as a #gamedev with #adhd:

Weaponize your #ADHD. You can have hours and hours of productivity if you learn to ride the wave of your attention span. Everyone is different, but if you plan your caffeine, meals and work time appropriately, it can be a HUGE boon

After a bit of a hiatus because of #life, currently back to being productive. Built a big piece of the back-end last week, and on the more visual side, added buttons. finally! My first non- @kenney.bsky.social visuals. very proud.

Made some levels for the trailer today.
Also: fixed a bug in core mechanic, adjusted color palette, reworked level startup animation, changed one of the sound effects, and probably 99 other little things THAT WOULD HAVE HAD minimum if any impact on the trailer, and I could do them later.

My plans today? Just your usual #ADHDev sunday:
1. Realize there's a thousand chores to do at home
2. Instead plan work on 10 amazing side projects
3. Do none of these things
4. Wonder why the the laundry is still not done

How long did it take for you to find your perfect mix?
These days I get into this meta-state where I'm aware that my current volatile interest is ADHD-induced but instead of panicking, I just accept that for the next 2 hours I'll be learning how game audio engines compute realistic yet playable sound decay.
I'm happier.
