We’ve got ourselves another candidate for Mayor. (Tracy Jensen already announced. Tony Daysog widely expected to run.)🍿 #alamtg
I’m loving you right now, #alamtg. Normal people, and especially their kids make me want to work harder. My heart is full. But I’m sad I have to experience this via 5 different group chats on 4 different apps instead of one hashtag.
What's happening inside #alamtg that we can't hold on to a City Manager for love or money?
So there was this dingus who owned a winery in my town and tried suing the local food bank and he let his domain registration lapse and hilarity ensued! #alameda #alamtg
Eliminating off-street parking requirements gets the goods. @drewda.bsky.social #alamtg

To be clear, Line 20 is basically just becoming Line 30. Alameda riders won’t notice any real changes. Line 21 is becoming Line 31 and will end in old Bay Farm, cutting off the long and usually empty airport segment but keeping the rest of the (Alameda portion of) route. #alamtg
Reminds me of the amazing “grassroots” advocacy group from some years back “I Drive Alameda.”😂 #alamtg
Update from the Alameda Free Library: "Due to the elimination of funding for the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), we can no longer provide free online access to the New York Times as of July 2025."
My favorite thing to remind people is that they can get access to paywalled articles at the NY Times and other papers through the local library. Apparently that just ended at my local courtesy of the Trump administration gutting the Institute of Museum and Library Services. 😠 #Alameda #alamtg
So Mia Bonta, Chris Peeples, Robert Raburn, and Jim Oddie all had named floats in the parade.
None of them were on their floats? Is there something happening elsewhere?

This Tuesday, #alamtg City Council will be asked to allocate an additional ~$5M from its general fund for the Aquatic Center. This post from The Morning Bun suggests Council take the opportunity to question the planned parking lot's size and management:

ARPD will be presenting an update on the Aquatic Center to the Recreation and Park Commission tonight. This post from The Morning Bun asks questions we've been asking and is well worth a read: www.themorningbun.com/does-the-aqu...

You can stop asking me when the water shuttle will start running Tuesdays now. #alamtg
Any local PD using Flock can give ICE access to Flock data from any other city - and, naturally, they are.
We have Flock ALPR here in #Alameda - this is precisely what a lot of us objected to at the outset but turned up to 11. #alamtg
Among other concerns related to Caltrans' SR-61 project along Otis and Doolittle is that the proposed bike lanes along Doolittle appear to be substandard in width. Details in a letter from Bike East Bay, published in The Morning Bun, here: www.themorningbun.com/bike-east-ba...

🚨 On Wednesday, Caltrans will present their SR-61 (Otis/Doolittle) plans to the #alamtg Transportation Commission. As this post in The Morning Bun details, Caltrans is backtracking on their commitment to improve traffic safety. Details and what you can do here: www.themorningbun.com/caltrans-to-...
I had wanted to be able to search through #alamtg meeting minutes for a while, and this was the kick in the pants I needed. In mid-August of 2022, I had a working system for fetching minutes from the #alamtg legistar, and using s3-ocr to put that into a sqlite database running under datasette.

In 2022, a local #alamtg activist named Rasheed Shabazz was asking around on twitter about digitizing meeting minutes and monthly reports from local organizations as part of his ongoing research into the racial history of Alameda.

No better feeling that watching the bike lane protecting curbs you advocated for and later helped design get poured. #alamtg #StayOutOfMyLane

At this @replsimon.bsky.social Town Hall. Apparently most of the calls her office is getting are coming from Alameda. Are we surprised #alamtg ?

Alameda, you did not disappoint today! At least 600 people shutting down a whole block of Santa Clara. And my outfit was definitely popular! #alamtg
