Decided to stay in the world of 2001 #Anime which led me to just now FINALLY watching #Alien9. It has alot of the hallmarks of what I miss most from this era. Key element being a style of psychological storytelling that doesn't seem to exist in anime anymore. Same for the general weirdness as well.

I guess Yuri would be considered a girlfailure today, but her friends keep trying to help her learn that scary things aren't as scary as she thinks, but she doesn't get any better and they keep getting hit with her psychic fear blasts. #Alien9

I don't think we ever get a full picture of the Alien Party in the anime, but participation apparently isn't compulsory and there's benefits to getting more girls to merge, so I can only assume it's some kind of pyramid scheme run by aliens who already took over the planet. #Alien9

Hay algo en el personaje principal que me hace sentir mucha empatía, y su amiga Kumi, la mas seria emocionalmente, tiene ese momento donde se abre a ella y le expresa sus sentimientos, acompañandola y protegiendola. No se, me emociono mucho.
