#Lupine are my favorite early summer flower and this is their time and the #Allegan SGA is filled with them, often carpeting the forest floor and taking your breath away, if you know where to look.

Walking through a young white pine forest on a sunny 79F day and taking a rare *view* at the #Allegan SGA, wasn't the worst way I could have spent the day. And the Kalamazoo River looked good enough to swim in!
American Columbo (Frasera caroliniensis), is a biennial that grows a lush green shoot its first year but its second, grows into a freaking 6' tall flower-covered greenish-yellow weird thing.
This year the #Allegan #SGA probably won't have many but next year? It should be stellar (if it rains).

I've often said that I don't mind people living at the #Allegan SGA but I do mind when they, and #hunters, trash the place.
It is one of the last remaining open spaces in this part of Michigan and holds untold treasures, and its users should be better educated.
