I named my girl after Alyss Heart of the Looking Glass Wars books. Alice in Wonderland is my favorite book and I really enjoyed the Looking Glass Wars books. Plus Alyss Heart is just a badass.
I didn't want her name to be "Alice" and be more unique so I went with the "Alyss" spelling.

Alyss went down a path to try and hone her magic but came across a strange artifact. She had gained powers belonging to a sorceress from a different time that could bend time and space.

In the beginning, Alyss liked doing Mini Cacpot so she could earn some MGP to play the Moogle Crane Game.

Yes! Alyss actually rules the Crystarium with the Exarch. She didn't want to risk losing G'raha if his soul wouldn't coalesce with his other self so she stayed in the First with him. They marry and have a son named Noah who eventually becomes the Exarch.
