More than a performance, it continues Otterbein’s legacy of women shaping the arts—highlighting the role of women as composers, educators, and creative leaders whose work continues to influence the cultural landscape today. Made possible through a partnership with the Westerville History Museum, the Westerville Historical Society, and the Johnstone Fund for New Music, this performance ensures that Westerville’s voice is part of the national story. Paired with works like Charles Ives’ _Variations on America_ and George Gershwin’s _Catfish Row_ , the program traces the arc of the American experience—its creativity, complexity, and ever-evolving identity. ## Stories on the Table As spring unfolds, the Taste of Westerville on May 7, hosted by the Westerville Area Chamber of Commerce, brings the community together through local flavor and connection. Participants are invited to customize their signature dishes as a tribute to their founding roots or personal stories, adding a meaningful layer that reflects the spirit of America250. While rooted in the present, events like this echo a long-standing tradition of gathering, sharing, and storytelling through food—highlighting the people, cultures, and experiences that continue to shape Westerville today. ## Moments of Reflection That sense of reflection deepens over Memorial Day weekend at the Field of Heroes, organized by the Westerville Sunrise Rotary Club.
