across from my access gates and the other community's two sided access gates and to greet the larger of all 3 communities as the single access road leading out of the quite large and easy to get lost in furthest back into the preserve and lakes are this original plant commemorating the opening of the middle school and elementary schools across the street from my gate personally. Agave's run $50 at least and are all over Central Florida landscape roadways. directly in center of the shot was the only Agave that sat in this rock bed just in front of the plaquards for the 2 schools which I cropped out for privacy purposes. I mistook this for Blue Agave, which I have, but its actually Agave Americana or American Agave. Begging to be in poor soil full scorching sun, does have water needs to meet but on a frequency that's baffling (every 2-3 weeks during peak growing season, otherwise once a month), needs feeding on monthly basis, and weeds nearby pulled, nut left alone this plant has produced 3 babies that equal it in size which now is making the production of new plants produced from underground rhizomes occur faster. Here we see on the right 3 babiesbelonging to 3 different plants

This was a treat to be able to get my neighbor's permission to get so close to, as she was on her porch. This is called Flame of the Woods, a species of West Indian Jasmin (Ixora). Research brought me to these 2 other common names: Scarlet Jungle flame & Jungle Geranium. It's botanical name is Ixora coccinea. A perennial evergreen shrub that blooms prolifically 2-5" wide yellow, red, orange, & pink, and always mixes up where the colors appear not appearing in the same spot twice. It looked like a oil pastel drawing that we used to make and then smudge w/ our fingers to blend the colors together.

This was another Chinese Hibiscus, of which I think I found 6 different colors and 3 different flower shapes, altogether 17 different plants using that combination. However, most weren't very full, and had but 1 open bloom at a distance I couldn't capture with my phone's camera. But my neighbor's are growing hybrids that include a deep purple carnation flowering Hibiscus that I have to wait for the opportunity to see this person outside to ask where they bought it, as it must've been a local source as they belong to Central Florida gardening community plant swaps when in our area.

I shit my pants when I saw this from 100 yards back. I knew instantly what I was looking at, the type of flower, not specifics. Although It was skeletal, nearly bare of leaves, with the literal centerpiece being the 3 blooms, the big open one being the center flower, bottom left was one in the common closed but not rosebud closed (check it out in this photo) on the same level as the center flower was the right bloom which was a closed rosebud all green w/ hints of white shades as it was developing into a full bloom.

Commonly called a Miniature Tea Rose, botanical name is Rosa hybrida, this is a perennial deciduous shrub that flowers in spring with bloom sizes 3-5". colors vary from purple, white, yellow, pink, red, & blends of those. This was exceptionally fragrant not since managing the cut flower crops on a USDA organic farm in upstate NY and first cut flower, May, was peonies which smelled so sexy, this rose now finally allowed me to understand the allure of rose-scented products

one of my neighbors is raising the largest Prickly Pear I've ever seen. My gated community opened to first finished builds in 2016, my parents came in 2017, this family came after. So this plant didn't grow from a small cactus into this giant. I feel terrible for whoever had the task of handling it to unload it from a truck bed onto rock bed and then maybe another poor landscaper had to transplant this massive stinging annoyance as even thru thickest of gloves invisible needles seem to pierce your skin on a molecular level, and the more into growing season, the more intense the annoyance like the equivalent of having 30-40 tiny popcorn kernels stuck inside your skin just out of your reach to dislodge and its all you can focus on.

everytime I look at this plant I wonder why nature felt the need to express her sadistic side? lol

I found two different bloom colored Desert Rose plants or Adenium obesum. But both plants instead of one fat trunk stem as mine has they have multiple branches waving wildly around originating from just below surface. they are thinner than my plant's stem, and this one had about 3 leaves per flower so 9 in all.

I found a very healthy Copperstone Stonecrop. Further research into this plant i learned it's other common name is Nussbaumer's Sedum and scientifically named Sedum nussbaumerianium. It is a subshrub succulent perennial evergreen

Many lawns in my community have this plant all over it. It's common name is Firecracker Plant botanical name Russelia equisetiformis. its a perennial deciduous shrub that flowers all 3 seasons during growing season.

The same Adenium obesum or Desert Rose as I have growing in my backyard. Yet this must be well into advanced age as my Plant Care app rates the plant in perfect health.
