An image capturing the side view of an Arisaema ringens flower. The V-shaped leaf stalk is also visible.

The expression "beautiful flower" doesn't suit her at all. "Mysterious flower" suits her better.

In my garden, it seems that the seeds were dispersed by birds that ate the red berries, and it's gradually increasing.

Arguably the loveliest of the cobra lilies is Arisaema candidissimum. These are all the pink-striped FCC Form that has been in cultivation for many years. It is always worryingly late to appear, but it’s emergence is quickly followed by these amazing flowers. #fairviewyearround #Arisaema #aroids

So pleased to have quite a few of these little characters to sell at the moment: Arisaema flavum. Perfectly hardy and quite easy here over the last several years.

Four colour studies of the flower and emerging leaf of a young jack-in-the-pulpit. All on stark white background. The spadix is the reproductive part of the plant, visible here as the pale green cylindrical object standing up in the middle of the flower (which is the male part of the inflorescence, the female flowers are near the base). The spathe is the modified leaf-like structure the surrounds it and folds over the top like a cap to keep the rain off, pale green at the base darkening to deep green and reddish at the cap part, with very pale green ribs running from just above the base to the very tip. There are water droplets on the cap. In a couple of the shots there is also an emergent leaf visible, with the three leaflets in the latin name just beginning to unfurl. It also has raindrops on it.

🌱 Calcium oxalate crystals also occur in the #native #Jack-in-the-pulpit / #Arisaema triphyllum plant. Called Indian Turnip, the tubers were dried and beaten to degrade the crystals, making them edible.
